Feigl experiences elbow discomfort, to be re-evaluated

ATLANTA -- Less than a week after nearly earning an unexpected spot in the Braves' bullpen, Brady Feigl is now hoping he is not dealing with a significant left elbow injury.

Feigl experienced left elbow discomfort while attempting to notch the save for Triple-A Gwinnett during Friday night's game against Durham. The 24-year-old issued two walks, committed a throwing error and surrendered a pair of unearned runs while recording just two outs before exiting in the ninth inning.

The Braves said Feigl will be re-evaluated after a few days of rest.

Feigl impressed the Braves as he allowed just one run and recorded seven strikeouts while completing 7 2/3 Grapefruit League innings this year. He might have gained a spot in Atlanta's bullpen if there had not been some concern about the fact he had never pitched above the Class A Advanced level before this year.
