ATLANTA -- When the latest All-Star ballot results were released Monday, there was reason to believe seven Braves could advance to the second round of the new balloting process next week.

continues to lead all National League second basemen, has drawn the third-most votes among NL outfielders and has moved closer to the lead among first basemen.

Third baseman and outfielder both made significant gains this week. They now stand with catcher and as the other Braves who could advance to the Starter Selection process, which begins next week.

The top three vote-getters at each position (including nine outfielders) per league will move on to "The Starters Election," which begins at noon ET on Wednesday, June 26. The votes will reset for a 28-hour voting window that ends at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 27. Starters for the 2019 Midsummer Classic will be unveiled on ESPN that night at 7 ET. The pitchers and reserves will be announced on Sunday, June 30, at 5:30 p.m. ET.

Then on Tuesday, July 9, during the 2019 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, fans may visit MLB.com and the 30 club sites to submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet.

Fans may vote in "The Primary" at MLB.com and all 30 club sites, the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark apps up to five times in any 24-hour period. Fans in the US and Canada can also vote on Google Search for every position, or up to 17 unique players per day, by searching "MLB Vote" or the names of their favorite players. Primary voting ends at 4 p.m. ET on Friday, June 21.

Freeman passed the Cubs’ Anthony Rizzo, and he gained ground on the Pirates’ Josh Bell, but he still sits a little more than 80,000 votes off the lead for NL first basemen.

Cody Bellinger, Christian Yelich and Acuna stand as the top three vote getters among outfielders. Acuna has garnered approximately 580,000 more votes than the Cubs’ Albert Almora Jr., who ranks fourth.

Markakis ranks sixth with approximately 116,000 more votes than the Phillies’ Bryce Harper, who ranks 10th, meaning Harper would not advance to the Starter Selection round if the balloting ended today.

Albies leads Milwaukee’s Mike Moustakas by approximately 45,000 votes. The Braves second baseman earned his first All-Star selection last year and entered the balloting’s final week with a legitimate chance to be voted into the starting lineup.

Swanson holds a slight advantage over the Dodgers’ Corey Seager, but he is nearly 900,000 votes behind the Cubs’ Javy Baez, who leads the balloting among NL shortstops.

Likewise, McCann ranks second among NL catchers, but he is approximately 800,000 votes behind the Cubs’ Willson Contreras’ leading total.

Donaldson made a big jump this week and has now tallied the third-most votes among NL third basemen. He is slightly ahead of the Dodgers’ Justin Turner, but he is well behind the totals garnered by the Rockies’ Nolan Arenado and the Cubs’ Kris Bryant.
