TORONTO -- The Braves placed third baseman Adonis Garcia on the 10-day disabled list with left Achilles tendinitis on Tuesday. Johan Camargo was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday to fill Garcia's roster spot.
While Garcia is sidelined, the Braves could provide a majority of the starts at third base to the versatile Jace Peterson, who made his third start of the season at the hot corner in Tuesday's 9-5 win over the Blue Jays.

Camargo, a switch-hitter, should have the capability to make some starts at third base against left-handed pitchers. At the same time, he would compensate for the versatility the bench loses when Peterson is in the starting lineup.
Braves top third-base prospect Rio Ruiz has been on a recent offensive tear for Gwinnett. But his extended struggles against left-handed pitching and lack of defensive versatility eliminated him as a candidate to fill Garcia's roster spot.
Garcia has batted .237 with four homers and a .626 OPS in 34 games for Atlanta this year. The 32-year-old Cuban third baseman did not play Tuesday, and he was gingerly walking through the clubhouse after the game.
