Braves agree to terms with Michael Kohn on minor league contract

The Atlanta Braves have agreed to terms with free-agent right-handed pitcher Michael Kohn on a one-year minor league contract for 2015 with an invitation to Major League spring training. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.

Kohn, 28, went 2-1 with a 3.04 ERA over 25 appearances with the Los Angeles Angels last season. He owns a 5-6 record with a 3.67 ERA over parts of four Major League seasons with the Angels. Kohn has spent his entire career as a reliever and missed the 2012 season while recovering from "Tommy John" surgery.

Over six minor league seasons, the South Carolina native owns a 15-9 record with a 2.76 ERA and 41 saves over 191 appearances. He has fanned 308 batters over 221.2 innings in his minor league career.

Kohn was originally selected by the Angels in the 13th round of the 2008 draft out of the College of Charleston (SC).
