NEW YORK -- Braves right-hander R.A. Dickey doesn't expect to miss a start after exiting Thursday's game against the Mets with a left quad spasm.
"It's no more than I've managed before," said Dickey, who allowed three runs (two earned) in five innings. The Braves held on to beat the Mets, 7-5, giving Dickey a win in his first Citi Field start since the Mets traded him to the Blue Jays in December 2012.
Dickey said he felt the spasm while running to first base in the fourth inning. He pitched the fourth and fifth innings from the stretch, then left the game after throwing just 67 pitches.
Eric O'Flaherty replaced Dickey on the mound to start the sixth inning. Dickey, in his first season with the Braves, has a 3.80 ERA through four starts.
His next scheduled start would be next week at SunTrust Park, also against the Mets.
