Atlanta Braves General Manager John Coppolella announced today that the Braves have made two additions to the club's baseball operations staff, as Adam Fisher has been named as assistant general manager and Perry Minasian has been tapped as director of player personnel. They will both officially join the organization on Monday, September 18.
"We are thrilled to add Adam and Perry to our staff," Coppolella said. "They are both extremely talented and hard-working individuals who will help to make the Braves better. Adam and Perry will play big roles as our organization continues to evolve and grow stronger."
Fisher, 39, began his baseball career with the New York Mets in 2003. He worked under four general managers in his 15 seasons in New York, including the last seven with Sandy Alderson. Fisher spent four seasons (2013-16) as director, baseball operations before being promoted in 2017 to senior director, baseball operations.
At the Mets, Fisher was involved in all facets of baseball operations, with a particular focus on player procurement and roster management. In addition, he helped to manage arbitration, contracts, analytics, and professional and advance scouting. He assisted with many of the transactions that helped build the Mets club that reached the World Series in 2015.
A native of Lexington, Mass., Fisher graduated cum laude with a degree in history from Harvard University in 2001. He is married and has two sons.
Minasian, 37, comes to the Braves from the Toronto Blue Jays, where he spent the last nine seasons. He joined the Blue Jays as a Major League scout in 2009 and served six seasons (2011-16) as director of professional scouting before becoming special assistant to the general manager in 2017.
Minasian has 29 years of baseball experience. He served as a batboy for the Texas Rangers from 1988 to 1996, then serving as a clubhouse attendant from 1997 to 2002, before moving into a scouting role in 2003 as a staff assistant.
Prior to his arrival in Toronto, he spent two seasons as an advance Major League scout for the Rangers. He also served as staff assistant to manager Buck Showalter and the Major League coaching staff from 2003 to 2006.
Minasian comes from a deep-rooted baseball family, as his father Zack served over 30 years in professional baseball. Perry's brother Calvin is the minor league clubhouse manager for the Washington Nationals and his brother Zack serves as the special advisor, scouting for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Born in Chicago, Ill., Minasian was raised in Arlington, Texas, and earned a Business degree at the University of Texas-Arlington. He and his wife Michelle have three children: Lola, Minka and Gemma.
