WASHINGTON -- The postponement of Monday's game against the Nationals will not force the Braves to alter their pitching plans as they spend the next week attempting to clinch the National League East and gain home-field advantage during the postseason.
Monday's game, which was postponed because of the Navy Yard shootings that killed at least 13 people, will be made up as a split doubleheader on Tuesday.
Monday's scheduled starters, Mike Minor and Dan Haren, will oppose each other in the first game, which is set to begin at 1:05 p.m. ET. Tuesday's scheduled starters, Freddy Garcia and Tanner Roark, will serve as the starting pitchers when the nightcap begins at 7:05.
Because the Braves are off on Thursday and Paul Maholm is returning to the rotation on Friday, Minor will still have an extra day of rest leading into his next scheduled start on Monday against the Brewers.
