Chipper Jones accidentally set the woods on fire behind his home in Roswell, Ga., Wednesday night, after improperly dumping the ashes from his fireplace.
The longtime Braves third baseman sent out a pair of tweets regarding the incident, the first of which read: "Lol. Tried to do my daily chores and cleaned out the fireplace. Went and dumped the ashes. Alls good right? Nope. Set the woods on fire! Ugh".
But this was no small fire. The blaze ignited much of the woods behind Jones' house, to which he tweeted: "I got firefighters all over my place! Thank you Roswell Fire Dept."
Jones, who retired after the 2012 season, spent his entire 19-year Major League career with Atlanta, where he hit .303 and earned a spot on eight National League All-Star teams.
