Teheran to sport hometown nickname on back of jersey

When returned to his native Colombia last year, he gained a sense of the international interest Major League Baseball's Players' Weekend created.
Teheran's friends and family members from his hometown of Olaya were not pleased with his decision to simply go with "JT," when players were given a chance to put nicknames on the backs of their jerseys during last year's inaugural Players' Weekend.

But they will likely be pleased to see "El Caballo De Olaya" on the back of his jersey as Players' Weekend begins on Friday and runs through Sunday. It translates to "The Horse of Olay."
"In Latin America, the horse is the good player," Teheran said. "So that's why I decided to go with the horse, because that is what they call me back home. They said, 'Everybody here calls you that and that is how we know you.' So that is why this year I decided to go with that nickname."

Braves rookie phenom will also recognize his hometown of La Sabana, Venezuela, by placing "Sabanero Soy" on the back of his jersey. This essentially translates to "I am Sabanero".
