Brewers acquire infielder Brad Miller from Rays

The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired INF Brad Miller and cash considerations from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for 1B/OF Ji-Man Choi.

The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired INF Brad Miller and cash considerations from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for 1B/OF Ji-Man Choi. Miller has been optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs. The announcement was made by General Manager David Stearns.
Miller, 28, batted .256 with 5 HR and 21 RBI in 48 games this season with Tampa Bay. He made 38 starts (34g at 1B, 2g at 2B, 2g at DH). He was designated for assignment on Thursday.
Miller owns a career batting average of .240 with 73 HR and 260 RBI in 653 games between Seattle (2013-15) and Tampa Bay (2016-18). He has started at seven different fielding positions during his Major League career, primarily at shortstop (345g). He has also started at second base (107g), first base (71g), center field (20g), left field (10g), third base (1g) and right field (1g).
Choi, 27, batted .233 (7-for-30) with 2 HR and 5 RBI in 12 games with Milwaukee this season after making the team out of Spring Training as a non-roster invitee. He made 8 starts (6g at DH, 2g at 1B) during three stints with the team (Opening Day-3/30, 5/18-5/23 and 6/1-6/9).
