Online registration for the 2nd Annual Drumstick Dash 5K closes tomorrow

The 2nd Annual Drumstick Dash 5K presented by Sendik's Food Markets to take place on Thanksgiving Day at Miller Park

Online registration for the 2nd Annual Drumstick Dash 5K presented by Sendik's Food Markets is still open through tomorrow - Tuesday, November 26 at 11:59 p.m. at Onsite registration will be available from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and race morning from 7:00 - 8:15 a.m. at Miller Park. Food and monetary donations will also be accepted at this time. For each $1 or nonperishable food item donated on site, participants will receive a raffle ticket for prizes provided by Sendik's. The Drumstick Dash 5K will take place on Thanksgiving Day at Miller Park, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Family Fun! Join us on race day as volunteers and staff will be donned in turkey hats, inflatable turkeys will be onsite, festive cutouts for photo opportunities will be displayed and as the lead vehicle travels with a large turkey, our mascot Dash will be close behind! Participants are also encouraged to dress up in their best Thanksgiving Day costume.

Drumstick Dash 5K contributions have reached over $5,000! $1 for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin provides 5 meals for a hungry family, bringing current totals to over 25,000 meals. Drumstick Dash is pleased to provide these meals for families in Eastern Wisconsin over the holiday season. These numbers will certainly grow as registration increases and monetary/food donations are collected race day.

"Thanksgiving Day is the single largest running day in the country and the Milwaukee community is coming together for a continued Milwaukee family tradition," said Vision Event Management President, Jeff Graves. "We are thrilled to have reached over 25,000 meals and will continue to see this number grow throughout the week," Graves added. "Being able to provide this many meals for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin has been a great feeling as we transition into the holiday season."

Your food and monetary donations will ensure that children and families struggling with hunger will have reason to be hopeful this holiday season," said Bonnie Bellehumeur, president of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.
