Cardinals announce ticket promotion tied to State Farm Home Run Derby

For every home run Carlos Beltran hits fans take $1 off on select $20 tickets July 23-26 series vs. Dodgers

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today a unique ticket promotion tied to the State Farm Home Run Derby on Monday night that could result in the team giving away free tickets when the team returns to St. Louis.

For every home run that Carlos Beltran hits, fans can take $1 off Pavilion and Terrace level tickets currently priced at $20 for the Cardinals - Dodgers series July 23-26th.  That means that if Beltran hits 20 or more homers, the tickets will actually be free.

"We are proud to have Carlos Beltran representing us in the Home Run Derby," said Joe Strohm, Vice President of Ticket Sales. "We thought this would be a fun way to celebrate the Cardinals involvement in this year's All-Star week, add suspense to an already exciting event and pass the savings on to our fans."

The State Farm Home Run Derby is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. CT Monday night, July 9th in Kansas City and will be telecast locally on ESPN. The ticket sale will take place on Wednesday, July 11th at 10 a.m. CT.  The actual number of tickets available depends on the discount, but if tickets are free, the team will give away approximately 5,000 total tickets.  There will be a limit of 4 discounted tickets per person.

A ticket promotion tied to the State Farm Home Run Derby is a first for the Cardinals, but is similar to the team's successful "Cards Win, You Save" promotion over the last few seasons where the team discounted tickets for each victory over a selected stretch of games, as well as other fan friendly values the team runs throughout the season.  For a complete list of the ticket values and promotions the Cardinals offer visit
