Gorman breaks out with 4-hit, 4-RBI game

The Cardinals' No. 1 prospect per MLB Pipeline had a big night at the plate to help Triple-A Memphis to a thrilling 12-11 victory over Nashville in 10 innings at AutoZone Park on Thursday night.

Infielder , also ranked as the No. 25 overall prospect in baseball, went 4-for-5 with a homer, a double and four RBIs before being intentionally walked in the 10th as part of a two-run frame that lifted the Redbirds to the walk-off win.

Gorman's home run was a two-run shot in the third inning, his seventh since being promoted to Triple-A in late June. He's hitting .267 with a .768 OPS with Memphis after the four-hit game, upping his batting average by 16 points and his OPS by 52 points in a single game. Prior to the breakout, Gorman was mired in a 1-for-15 slump over his previous five games.

Overall, Gorman is hitting .278/.340/.476 with 18 homers in 86 games between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis this season.
