Rumors have already begun to swirl that Nolan Gorman is on the doorstep of getting the call to The Show. And it's performances like the one on Wednesday that will make those rumors a reality, sooner than later.

The second-ranked Cardinals prospect collected four knocks -- including two home runs -- drove in four runs and scored three times to lead Triple-A Memphis to a 9-6 triumph over Durham at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

It's the second multi-homer game of the season for MLB Pipeline's No. 32 overall prospect, as well as his fourth multihit effort of 2022. The performance also extends Gorman's hitting streak to 14 games -- over which he is 23-for-66 with 12 extra-base hits, four walks, 18 runs scored and 14 RBIs.

The 21-year-old didn't waste any time extending his streak with a two-run blast to right in the opening inning on a 1-2 pitch from Easton McGee. The long ball kicked off a three-run frame from the RedBirds.

In the following inning, Gorman fell behind 0-2 in the count to McGee, before connecting on the third pitch of the at-bat and mashing it beyond the fence in right again. The blast was the Phoenix, Arizona native's 10th of the season.

After striking out in the fourth, Gorman added a double to center with two outs in the sixth, and a lead-off single to right in the ninth. The 2018 No. 19 overall Draft pick scampered home four batters later on a fielding error by the first baseman that would have ended the inning.

The four hits are not a season high for Gorman, who went 5-for-6 with a dinger on April 13 at Charlotte. After starting the season hitless through his first three games (0-for-9), Gorman is now sporting a .348/.397/.833 slash line through 17 games.

Sixth-ranked Cardinals prospect Juan Yepez reached base three times -- notching his sixth home run, a double and a walk, while No. 10 Cardinals prospect Alec Burleson also found the seats for a solo shot in the seventh.
