Director, Human Resources
As the Director of Human Resources for the St. Louis Cardinals, Ann Seeney is responsible for overseeing all human resource functions for the team, including recruitment, training and benefits administration for the organization.
The Cardinals offer one of the most unique places to work, employing hundreds of full and part-time employees in St. Louis, as well as nationally and, even to a limited extent, internationally. Examples of team employees range from professional baseball players, coaching staff and scouts located throughout the teams farm system to entry level ticket salespersons and career professionals in the team's front office in St. Louis.
The team also employs seasonal event staff in St. Louis, as well as event staff at various other team locations. The Cardinals HR department strives to create a positive, rewarding, fun and unique work environment for all employees regardless of their tenure or status with the team.
Ann joined the Cardinals in 2013 with more than fifteen years of experience in human resources, holding a variety of progressively responsible positions in several organizations. Immediately prior to joining the team, Ann served as the Executive Director of Human Resources for the Riverview Gardens School District in North St. Louis County.
Ann relocated to St. Louis from the Washington D.C. area where she worked for Goodwill Industries International, The HR Team, Experience Works and Sagex. Ann's human resource experience is quite varied and includes work in non-profits focusing on older workers, work with individuals with disabilities, and the oceanographic sciences, consulting, manufacturing, transportation, financial institutions, information technology, immigration, international HR, payroll administration, HRIS, public education and training.
Ann has a BA in Mass Media Arts - Public Relations from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia and MBA from the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi, Maryland; and holds Professional in Human Resources (PHR) as well as SHRM -CP certifications. Ann sits on the board for the Diversity Awareness Partnership as well as The Little Bit Foundation. Ann is a member of the local Human Resources Management Association (HRMA) as well as the National Association of African American Human Resource (NAAAHR) professionals St. Louis chapter. She is also a graduate of the FOCUS Leadership St. Louis program. An Oklahoma native, Ann is an avid baker who dreams of opening her own bakery one day.
