Venezuela - the home country of Cardinals player José Martínez and bullpen catcher Kleininger Teran - needs our help. For years, the country has been facing a socioeconomic and political crisis, and conditions are worsening for those who call it home. Crime, poverty and unemployment is widespread and individuals are facing a food and basic needs shortage, a weakened currency and a lack of access to medical assistance.
José invites fans to purchase tickets for the last series against the Milwaukee Brewers (September 24-26) to help benefit those impacted by the crisis in Venezuela.
For every specially-priced ticket purchased, 75% will go straight to José's Venezuelan relief efforts.
Fans wanting to help Venezuela but unable to purchase tickets can make a monetary donation to Cardinals Care. Please indicate either "Venezuela" or "Help Jose" in the memo line.
Checks should be made out to Cardinals Care and mailed to 700 Clark Street; St. Louis, MO 63102.
