Adam Wainwright's rough outing in Game 5 last week was all part of his master plan
After earning the win Thursday with seven innings of one-run ball in Game 4 of the NLCS, Adam Wainwright joked that allowing six earned over 2 1/3 frames in last week's decisive Game 5 against the Nationals was just part of his larger plan.
That would have been a risky, risky move if true, especially considering the Cardinals needed a two-out rally in the ninth to even reach this series againt the Giants.
The lesson to be learned? Adam Wainwright likes to bluff.
