Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus still can't agree on who gets to catch which ball
Andrus, Beltre joke with each other over popup again
Like bickering brothers, Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus can't ever seem to agree on boundaries within their corner of the infield. Any time a batter pops up between them, it ends with adamant gesticulating and, on at least one occasion, line-drawing.
It happened again Friday night, when Jon Singleton knocked a pitch up into shallow left field. Both Beltre and Andrus shuffled back for it (sorry, Will Venable), but Andrus called Beltre off and made the catch. So, right on cue:
Guys, GUYS. It's OK. Do you need some peer mediation?
Look, sometimes Andrus is going to make the catch. Other times, Beltre is going to make a bobbling catch that astounds everyone. It's just the way these things work. You don't have to argue over every ball.
Or, you can. Either way.
