After another homer, Giancarlo Stanton's power surge shows no signs of slowing down

Giancarlo Stanton never shies away from his power. His 477-foot home run this month is tied for the fifth-longest of the season and, even without repeating his Home Run Derby title this year, he's still putting on a show for the hometown Miami fans.
Thursday night, he once again showed off his capabilities with a 422-foot homer during the 3-2 loss to the Nationals because that's what he does best.

The four-time All-Star is currently boasting a .275/.368/.614 line with a career-best and league-leading 39 home runs. He's hit six of those in his last seven games … and 18 over the last 30. Oh, and he's on pace to hit nearly 60 this season.

We just barely returned from All-Star Weekend, so there's still plenty of baseball left for him to add some more numbers to his name. Just like his teammate, second baseman Derek Dietrich, told MLB.com's Kyle Melnick, he's pretty unstoppable.
"It's very enjoyable to watch him have the success," Dietrich said. "Now it's like every single night he's homering and powering our lineup. Really it's been fun to watch. He's the catalyst. He's what makes our lineup really go, and he drives in the runs. He's going to hit a lot more before the season's over, I promise you."
