Alex Cobb served as honorary starter at the Firestone Grand Prix
Alex Cobb has been a busy man this spring. All he's done so far is maintain a 3.68 ERA over three Spring Training starts, begin a throwing program to combat forearm tendinitis, and rescue a stray dog from outside the Rays' stadium.
On Sunday, he added honorary IndyCar Series starter to his resume.
Cobb waved the green flag to start the Firestone Grand Prix in St. Petersburg, Fla., while Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson served as the race's Grand Marshall.
The race itself was an entertaining one as Juan Pablo Montoya and Will Power worked to stay ahead of the pack:
