All the A's walk-offs inspire the creation of the Pie Man

What do you call a man who dresses up like a baker and refers to himself as the Pie Man? A Super Hero? Something even greater?

The answer is none of those things. The Pie Man is actually Jon Root, a huge A's fan from Sacramento who drove over to Oakland to cheer on his favorite team. Now that the A's have a ridiculous 12 walk-offs this season -- the most in the league – and a pie slam for each,  he’s hoping to serve up No. 13.

We love that he calls himself the "self-proclaimed" Pie Man, like thousands of people were hoping to become the Pie Man, and he just cut the line. Or if someone else became a Pie Man, no one would respect them because there can only be one Pie Man.
