Athletics turn batting practice into miniature golf
Summer isn't always easy for Major League ballplayers. What with road trips and press conferences and nary a day off from playing a rigorous, 162-game season, some of the big league ball players can struggle with the grind. Not to mention what the season probably does to the handicap, ya know.
So, it's no wonder that some of the guys on the Athletics decided to turn another day at the office into a lovely first date, rigging equipment up around the plate to make a miniature golf course during batting practice.
Yoenis Cespedes and Alberto Callaspo probably didn't get a full 18 in on Monday, but any bit of time on the links is time well spent. We're going to go ahead and guess that neither of them qualified for a spot in the field at Pinehurst next month, though.
