A baby, yes, a baby was born during a Padres game at Petco Park
Padres fan for life? Baby born mid-game at Petco Park
So, a quick recap from Thursday's Giants-Padres game: Derek Norris hit a three-run home run, Madison Bumgarner struck out nine batters over seven innings, Alexi Amarista hit a game-winning single, a baby was born in the third inning -- wait, what? No, yeah, this actually happened:
We welcomed a baby boy to the world in Palm Court Plaza earlier this evening. First baby to be born at Petco Park!

The boy was apparently named Levi (not Tony or Amarista) and delivered in about 20 minutes by stadium nurse/midwife Donna Borowy. Borowy has delivered babies before, but never outside of a hospital and, obviously, never in a baseball stadium. The mother and son were later taken to a local San Diego hospital:

He was the first baby born in Petco Park history and quite possibly one of the first recorded instances ever of in-park birth (MLB.com's rare feats unfortunately doesn't cover this stuff). So, congratulations on making history, mom and son. Also, Levi, you are now, quite literally, a Padres fan for life.
