Bartolo Colon hit a batting-practice home run, and it's already a legend

Early on Monday, word spread of a feat so great, construction of a monument in its honor may already be underway.
Bartolo Colon hit a batting-practice home run.

Colon, though he is a prodigious hitter in his own right, has never hit an MLB home run. Yet on this otherwise unremarkable Monday in March, before the Mets took on the Tigers, Colon proved that his Silver Slugger Award bonus may be within reach. And doesn't the "took out a tree branch" part seem ripped right out of Virgil?
But, like any good legend, there is only word from those chosen individuals who witnessed it.

For now, you just have to believe.
