Baseball players couldn't stop posting on social media about the National Championship game

On Monday, the pinnacle of the college football season arrived: the National Championship game between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Throughout the evening, baseball players around the league maintained a healthy level of excitement about the evening's festivities.
Cardinals right-hander and Brunswick, Ga., native Adam Wainwright and his wife were hyped:

James McCann sought the advice of Twitter prognosticators:

With his Bulldogs leading at the half, Josh Reddick was pumped:

As was McCann:

Mike Napoli marveled at the athleticism on display:

Taijuan Walker enjoyed the halftime entertainment:

After Alabama tightened the score to 13-7 with a third-quarter touchdown, eyebrows were raised:

After the Bulldogs responded with a huge touchdown of their own to go back on top 20-7, more emojis and reactions upped the ante:

Longtime outfielder and proud Hawaii native Shane Victorino was pumped up about watching Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa do his thing in the game:

Alabama stormed back, erasing a 20-7 deficit to put themselves in position to potentially win in regulation. With three seconds remaining, Alabama kicker Andy Pappanastos attempted to win the game with field goal, but he missed:

Once the game headed to overtime, tensions mounted ... but in the end, Alabama won with a second-down touchdown to win, 26-23, thanks to a great throw from Tagovailoa:

In all, a pretty exciting night of college football.
