Blake Snell practiced being a reporter by conducting an interview and grabbing a camera

When an ensemble plays a jazz standard, it is not so much an effort to cover a classic tune as a canvas upon which those particular musicians can paint their own improvisational interpretations.
The mid-inning dugout interview, then, is the baseball prank version of "The Girl from Ipanema." There are all sorts of variations on the prank -- from throwing sunflower seeds at the interviewed player to photobombing the interview. During Sunday's game against the Twins, Rays pitcher Blake Snell offered his own interpretation: The mock interview. He even roped Micah Johnson in for the fun:

As it turned out, that wasn't the end of Snell's day of playing a journalist. Later in the game, he grabbed a camera to take some pictures of the action:

Even though he is only 25 years old, Snell clearly feels it is never too early to think about what a post-playing career might look like. If Sunday was any indication, he'll find his way into a broadcast booth whether he's invited or not.
