Brandon Nimmo has made an important free-agent acquisition of his own, adopting a cute dog to what must be a lifetime contract.
Additional sources out of NYC have confirmed that Jake the Dog is indeed a "good boy" and is looking forward to participating in games of fetch in Central Park as a member of the Nimmo family.
It remains to be seen how active the Mets will be in the free-agent market under new GM Brodie Van Wagenen, but Mets fans can take comfort knowing that their perpetually smiling young outfielder has made a move that ensures he'll continue smiling on and off the field for years to come.
