The Brewers scheduled a press conference for Friday to put an end to the Hank controversy
Earlier this week, an investigation by Brew Crew Ball sparked a heated debate: Is the current Hank the Ballpark Pup the same dog that wandered into Brewers Spring Training in 2014, or has he been replaced by an imposter?
Hoping to avoid a simmering "did we land on the moon?"-style controversy, the club addressed the issue. Brewers VP of communications Tyler Barnes told MLB.com:
"The 'real' Hank? What is real and what is an impostor? Is the Tooth Fairy the next target? Santa Claus? The Great Pumpkin?"
That answer wasn't equivocal: Was Barnes suggesting that Hank was merely a myth the whole time? Would the Ballpark Pup sneak in to give you money in exchange for puppy treats?
More answers are soon to come, as the Brewers have announced a press conference Friday to address all the "Hank 1" questions.
A press conference has been scheduled for tomorrow related to "Hank 1." Stay tuned for more information.- Milwaukee Brewers (@Brewers) March 3, 2016
Is he a clone? Is he filled with alien DNA? Is there a rule that says dogs can't play baseball, squashing the Brewers' plans to have Hank backup third base? We'll just have to wait and find out.
