Brewers score three on one wild pitch

Brewers score three on wild pitch

With two outs in the top of the third inning against the Rockies, the Brewers were threatening to add to their lead as Wily Peralta came to bat with the bases loaded. He never had to take the thing off his shoulder, though, because a Christian Friedrich wild pitch would empty the bases.

Friedrich's pitch gets by catcher Michael McKenry allowing Aramis Ramirez to score while Mark Reynolds and Jean Segura each advanced a base.

McKenry's throwing error allowed Reynolds to come around and moved Segura to third ... where he was close enough to swipe home while Colorado's battery was busy shaking off the two runs that had just crossed.

For those of you keeping score at home, the last time this sort of thing happened was in a 2001 Rangers-Athletics contest when Raphael Palmeiro, Ruben Sierra and Gabe Kapler scored on Oakland's Mike Magnante thanks to a wild pitch and a Ramon Hernandez throwing error. Thanks for everything, Elias Sports Bureau.

Oh, and it's worth noting that the Rockies allowed two runners to score on the same wild pitch earlier this season, when two Padres came across thanks to an Edwin Rosario throwing error. The more you know ...
