Broadcaster Dennis Eckersley watches, um, Dennis Eckersley win the A's mascot race
Dennis Eckerlsey cheers on his mascot version at O.Co Coliseum
If you're not up on your giant-headed mascot races, the A's hold one between Rickey Henderson, Rollie Fingers and Dennis Eckersley every home game. And during Thursday's Red Sox-A's game, Eckersley won ... while his human counterpart watched from the Boston broadcasting booth.
Some might say that Eck the mascot was inspired by Eck the human's presence, while others may infer that Eck the human was actually controlling Eck the mascot with his mind. But I believe the power of two glorious moustaches in one building was simply too much for Rickey and Rollie to overcome.
