Bryce Harper dives for ball, loses belt
Bryce Harper already has a reputation as a hard-nosed ballplayer, and on Monday night against the Mets, the Nats center fielder played right out of his belt.
Harper made a diving attempt at Andres Torres' fourth-inning liner and tore his belt in two while knocking down the ball. The rookie casually walked over to Washington's bullpen and snagged another waistband from a generous teammate.
Hey, Bryce -- if you were wearing your Olympic uni, you wouldn't have to worry about a belt. And you'd probably have the proper aerodynamics to make that catch. Just saying.
