This Tigers fan learned the hard way that umbrellas don't protect against baseballs

The weather in the Midwest is always touch and go for the first month of regular-season baseball. Sunday afternoon was no different as Tigers fans found themselves taking in a rainy game against the White Sox.
The fans who did endure the unpleasant weather at the park brought along their umbrellas to stay dry. Little did they suspect that there would be objects falling from the sky from which they would offer no protection.

Thanks to that Victor Martinez foul ball, that fan's umbrella will struggle to fulfill its original purpose of deflecting rain.

Maybe he can plug the hole with the very baseball that made it, but, most likely, this fan will have to explore other methods for staying dry at Comerica Park.
