The A's are installing 50 Stomper statues around Oakland and we hope they stay forever

To celebrate 50 years in Oakland in 2018, the A's have announced that they'll honor a hero in statue form -- a franchise mainstay who always sports the green and gold, bat-flips with the best of them and enjoys a lightly-toasted everything bagel first thing in the morning. Yes, we're of course talking about Stomper.

The project is called "Stomper in the Town" and will feature 50 six-foot statues placed throughout the city next year. The Stompers will all have different designs, as created by fan or artist submissions. A few of the statues will also be auctioned off at the end of the season to benefit the A's Community Foundation. So yes, you can finally have a life-size version of Stomper roaming your backyard.
