Bulls draft pick Denzel Valentine threw out a White Sox first pitch in a familiar jersey number

Denzel Valentine, the former Michigan State star who was selected by the Chicago Bulls in June's NBA Draft, visited the White Sox before their game against the Twins on Wednesday. Valentine, who told's Scott Merkin before the game that his baseball skills are "probably awful," ended up throwing a pretty decent and basketball-y first pitch:

And yes, if you look at that number on his back and you followed Michael Jordan's career/watched Space Jam, it may look like a familiar Chicago sight:

Valentine, quite fortuitously, wore No. 45 in college. The rookie mentioned His Airness when talking about making Chicago his new home before the game.

"Oh, yeah. Oh my god. I have family here. This is a big time city. A big time organization. A winning tradition. The greatest player to ever play the game. You can't ask for no better than that."
"It's a great opportunity for me. Getting drafted in the best situation. I couldn't ask for it to be better. I feel like I'm getting a chance to come in and contribute right away."
