Watch Colby Rasmus bank a single ... off the Minute Maid Park roof

Rasmus hits single off Minute Maid Park roof

Colby Rasmus, a man with wondrous locks straight out of a "Lord of the Rings" movie, has done many great things this postseason. Entering the Astros' 4-2 win over the Royals in Game 3 of the ALDS on Sunday, the Astros outfielder had three home runs, one bat flip, four doubles, five RBIs and a .444 batting average. He had eight hits in 18 at-bats! He could do no wrong.

So in the bottom of the eighth inning on Sunday, he decided to just start playing around with opposing infielders/outfielders by banking a single off the Minute Maid Park roof:

Yes, a ball off the roof in fair territory is in fact in-play/a hit -- as long as nobody catches it for the out. Mike Trout hit one off the rafters last year in foul territory, which is automatically a dead ball.

Fair-ball roof shots have been duplicated a few times before at Minute Maid Park -- including during the 2004 postseason -- but it does take some exceptional power. The ceiling measures as high as 242 feet in some places.
