All the Twitter twists and turns of Dexter Fowler's surprise signing with the Cubs

It seemed like Thursday was going to be like any other day for the Cubs. Sure, there were a few ripples in the water …

But it didn't seem like there would be any major waves. But wait. What's going on in Arizona?

Like, free agent Dexter Fowler is visiting his former teammates and surprising them with a cake or something?

That, we have to admit, is a surprise slightly better than cake, especially when it was widely reported that Fowler had agreed to a deal with the Orioles earlier in the week. Now, that Coghlan trade makes a little more sense.

Now that is the face of a man who has pulled off the near-impossible: He threw an actually surprising surprise party for himself. Of course, he didn't do it alone:
