Maybe you missed it, but the Cubs were celebrating their NLDS clinch all game long

Cubs celebrate NLDS clinch all game long on Tuesday

Before a team clinches a postseason series, the players generally don't know it's going to happen. Sure, they can believe it's going to happen and have confidence it's going to happen, but they don't actually know for sure.

Or so we thought.

During Game 4 of the NLDS on Tuesday, the Cubs (and their fans) KNEW they were going to clinch a trip to the NLCS. Maybe it was a trip to a local psychic, perhaps it was simply ESPN -- either way, they definitely knew and were celebrating throughout the game. Here's our indisputable evidence below:

Jason Motte officially got the clinch party started all the way back in the second inning with, um, this:

Miguel Montero continued the celebration into the top of the fourth inning with a dramatic fist pump:

There were even horse-led parades right outside the stadium doors:

John Cusack realized mid-game what was occuring and his brain nearly burst out of his head:

Most of the dugout finally got into it in the sixth inning:

Fernando Rodney gave his signature bow-and-arrow victory celebration in the seventh -- and so did some other guy on the Jumbotron? Weird.

Pedro Strop was late to the party, but ready all the same:

This fan on the right also knew what was coming in the late innings ... and could hardly contain himself:

And even though they knew it the entire time, after the final out of their 6-4 win, the Cubs couldn't help but celebrate once again.

It's the first time Chicago has clinched a postseason series at their 101-year-old stadium. They'll face either the Mets or Dodgers in their first NL Championship Series since 2003 this Saturday on TBS.
