Face the strange: David Bowie had a curious connection to the New York Yankees

David Bowie passed away at the age of 69 on Sunday. There was hardly any part of pop culture that he didn't touch. From music, to fashion, to movies:

As the world changed and adapted, so, quite wonderfully, did Bowie. And when the internet became all the rage in the 1990s, he was ready -- developing a tech company called UltraStar. As CBS' Dave Brown pointed out on Monday, that company was affiliated with the beginnings of Yankees.com back in 1999. The portal offered fans a chance to connect with one another and follow their team's progress online.
"We couldn't be more pleased to be working with the premier team in all of sports," he said. "We hope to deal with one of the most profound unanswered questions in all of sports. [Yankees teammates] Paul O'Neill can play drums, Bernie Williams can play guitar, but who's on bass?"
