David Price says Dallas Keuchel should win the AL Cy Young Award

David Price says Dallas Keuchel should win Cy Young

The AL pitching leaderboard is jammed heading into the final weekend of the 2015 regular season: Dallas Keuchel leads in WAR, David Price leads in ERA, Chris Sale and Chris Archer are Nos. 1 and 2 in strikeouts, Corey Kluber and Mark Buehrle have the most complete games ...

But, as the season draws to a close and members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America prepare to cast their votes for the AL Cy Young Award, the conversation seems to be turning into a two-horse race between Price and Keuchel.

For his money, Price said he'd vote for the guy with the longer beard.

In case you didn't know, the "Clarence" Price is referring to is his name for the 2012 AL Cy Young Award that he won as a member of the Rays. Yes, he named it "Clarence" and yes, that was Price humbly recognizing that he thinks Keuchel has had a better season while subtly pointing out his own previous achievements.

With the regular season scheduled to wrap up on Sunday, the Blue Jays have already clinched the AL East title and a spot in the ALDS, so Price probably won't make another start before then. The Astros are embroiled in the AL Wild Card battle, and Keuchel will look to build on his already impressive showing this season with one more start on Friday.
