Dee Gordon thanked Ichiro for his leadership -- and his regulation of the Marlins' clubhouse music

Veteran leadership -- every team's got at least one player, it seems. And for the past three seasons, Ichiro Suzuki played that role for the Marlins.
But on Friday, Miami cut ties with the 44-year-old outfielder, declining a $2 million club option for next season and making Ichiro a free agent. 
Dee Gordon was Ichiro's teammate in Miami for each of those past three seasons, so he was sad to see the veteran go. Gordon shared as much with a warm Instagram post after hearing the news Friday, even tossing in three goat emojis to convey his thoughts about Suzuki. But one line in Gordon's post -- the phrase "and you secretly cutting down the music when I leave the clubhouse," should make anybody crack a smile:

That's veteran leadership, right there.
And while we don't know where Ichiro may end up -- next season would mark his 18th in the Big Leagues -- one thing that doesn't seem likely is any thought of retirement. After all, he's gone on record to say he seriously intends on trying to play until he's 50.
