Dexter Fowler's belt can't keep up with his brilliant defense

Success always comes with a price ... is a lesson which Dexter Fowler learned during Game 1 of the NLCS. To be more precise, it's a lesson which Dexter Fowler's belt learned.
In the top of the third, with one out and the Cubs holding on to a 3-0 lead, Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner lined a ball to right-center field which looked like a sure-fire hit off the bat. Unfortunately for Turner, the center fielder, Fowler, laid out to record the out with a tremendous diving catch.

The following inning, the score was still 3-0 and, apparently, Fowler was still intent on keeping the score there. With two outs, catcher Carlos Ruiz stepped to the plate and crushed the ball. This time it went to left-center field, but Fowler was more than up to the task. He once again ran the ball down to make another tremendous diving catch.

However, hard impacts in back-to-back innings were more than Dexter Fowler's belt could stand and it paid the price for the max effort of its wearer.

Postseason play is for the tough. Fowler has what it takes. His belt did not.
See if Fowler's belt can make it through night during NLCS Game 2. Tune in Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on FS1.
