Dogs are here! One Citi Field vendor's secret marketing weapon
In the competitive ballpark hot dog market, differentiation is key.
Bill Beaman, currently in his third season hawking franks at Citi Field, has come up with a call that stands out from the rest of the competition. Pairing a hint of Arsenio Hall's infamous dog bark along with his boisterous "Dogs are here," Beamon has seen his revenues increase.
"As the crowds have gotten bigger, the PA has gotten louder," he said. "I needed to get something that would help me stand out".
Beamon's distinct call helps fans as far as three sections over hear him coming their way. It also provides extra entertainment value.
"They give me a tip just for doing the call," said the Brookyln native.
