Requiem for a fly ball: First Melvin Upton had it, then Matt Kemp had it, then it was a triple

Fly ball drops in between Upton and Kemp for triple

As little kids, we're first taught two things: 1) No, those peas will not in fact kill you and 2) never get involved in a land war in Asia sharing is caring. So when Colorado's Brandon Barnes lifted a lazy fly ball to right-center during Friday's Padres-Rockies game, center fielder Melvin Upton and right fielder Matt Kemp did what any self-respecting first-grader would do: They offered it up to their outfield buddy. Except, uh, well:

Padres fly ball

Sure, allowing a triple wasn't necessarily the most practical option, but a noble sentiment nonetheless. We salute you, Padres outfield, for sacrifing actual baseball in order to instruct the youth of America in the art of sharing one's fly balls.
