Freddie Freeman saved Dansby Swanson with a terrific falling grab at first base

As the centerpiece of the Braves' lineup, Freddie Freeman is counted on to be the most important part of the Braves' lineup. He's not just a hitter, though -- he also plays a crucial part on defense as the team's first baseman. The glove turned out to be valuable on Monday night in Toronto. In the bottom of the third, Kevin Pillar hit a ground ball to shortstop. It was to Dansby Swanson's right, however, so it took a moment for him to get to the ball, and he had to make the throw on the run. The ball fell short of first and took a weird bounce higher than Freeman expected. No problem.
And he stuck the landing! It was a big game for Freeman, who also added in a three-run homer off Leonel Campos. It was his 13th long ball of the season, tied for the most in the National League. The Braves went on to beat the Blue Jays, 10-6. Given his excellent all-around play, it's not difficult to see why Braves fans are already chanting "M-V-Free."
