The Giants' grounds crew had to make an emergency foul-line repair on Monday

Before the Giants took on the Reds at AT&T Park on Monday, there was something askew. No, it wasn't Doc Brown landing in McCovey Cove or dogs skateboarding on the concourse. That's normal. It was, instead, a foul line that went nowhere:

Would baseballs know where to go? Would players know where to go? Would somebody have to adapt Shel Silverstein's masterpiece to tell us what happens next?

Well, apparently the line had been drawn a bit crooked in the first place, so the grounds crew had to erase part of it and re-shape it to connect with the middle of the foul pole. The hero groundskeeper raced across the outfield to sprinkle down some chalk and get the game going.
