Is White Sox infielder Gordon Beckham secretly the GM of the Chicago Bears?

White Sox's Gordon Beckham has NFL doppelganger

There might be a time in the near future where a Chicago sports fan stops Gordon Beckham on the street and asks him about the Bears' quarterback situation or how the team's linebackers are shaping up for the 2015 season.

It's not that Beckham is such a die-hard supporter of the Monsters of the Midway. It's just that Ryan Pace, the Bears' new general manager, and the White Sox infielder show a striking resemblance.

"Somebody sent me a picture of him, and yeah, I think we look a lot alike," said a smiling Beckham of his gridiron doppelganger. "That would be a good reference. Some people say, 'Hey, you look a lot like this person,' and I'm like, 'I don't see it.' I see it on that guy."

Pace, 37, played football for Eastern Illinois University before going to work in the New Orleans front office. He grew up in Texas.

Beckham, 28, was selected with the eighth pick overall by the White Sox in the first round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, before joining the White Sox in 2009 during an inaugural season that earned him a couple of Rookie of the Year honors as voted on by his peers. He grew up in Georgia.

Since they're from different states and are different ages, it's very unlikely that they're the same person ... but that doesn't rule out a "Prestige"-style magic/cloning situation:
