Here are the 10 men who will be destroying baseballs in this year's Home Run Derby

The 10 participants in this year's Home Run Derby are ...

Home Run Derby Captains Jose Bautista and Troy Tulowitzki have selected their teams for next Monday's competition. A few of our predictions from last month made the cut, but there are definitely some surprises -- including the one they call THE BULLDOZIER

American League

Jose Bautista, OF, Blue Jays - 17 HRs

The captain of the squad, Bautista is like the John "Hannibal" Smith of this team. With facial hair forged in the irons of hell and an eye for good pitches (his .414 OBP leads the league), Bautista should be ready to give a "I love it when a plan comes together" speech if the AL emerges victorious.

Bautista

Yoenis Cespedes, OF, Athletics - 14 HRs

Last year's reigning champ is back and looking for another title, this time under a new format (which he would have won last year, anyway). While Cespedes' blasts are majestic to watch:

Some pundits are wondering whether he'll be allowed to simply throw the ball out of the park. He's got the arm to do it:

Josh Donaldson, 3B, Athletics - 20 HRs

Josh Donaldson's Twitter handle is @bringerofrain20. Now, while I can't tell you what Bring Erofa In means, I can tell you -- what's that? Oh, it says Bringer of Rain? Ohhhhh. That makes much more sense. Like, he hits baseballs that travel high into the air and crash down to Earth much the way rain does.

Well, it's a good thing he's in the Derby then.

Donaldson

Brian Dozier, 2B, Twins - 16 HRs

The No-Doze. The BullDozier. The Dosie Dozier. All of these are nicknames one could give the Twins second baseman. Unfortunately, none of them have stuck yet.

After cranking out 18 home runs last season, doubling his highest total in the Minors, Dozier has nearly replicated that total in half of the 2014 campaign. His 16 home runs also lead all Major League second basemen.

Dozier

Adam Jones, OF, Orioles - 16 HRs

In 2012, Jones hit 32 home runs. In 2013, 33 home runs. This year, he's on pace for, yeah, 30 home runs. Should he reach that plateau this season, he'll become only the 17th center fielder with three 30 homer seasons and only the 10th to pull off the feat in consecutive seasons.

Adam Jones

National League

Troy Tulowitzki, SS, Rockies - 18 HRs

What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word "Beast?"

OK, but the second thing is probably Troy Tulowitzki. The Rockies shortstop leads the National League in batting average, slugging and OPS. He's shown off some incredible power this season, and that's why he's this squad's captain:

Giancarlo Stanton, OF, Marlins - 21 HRs

Stanton actually accepted his Derby invite last week, but this gives us another opportunity to show off more of his mammoth home runs.

Sorry, just one more.

The right fielder currently leads the NL in homers and RBIs and might be the first Target Field'er to hit one into Wisconsin.

Todd Frazier, 3B, Reds - 17 HRs

The Toddfather may seem like an unusual choice, but as we've mentioned before, NINE of his home runs have been measured at more than 400 feet this season. Dude can mash. He's also a huge Tony Soprano fan. That should've gotten him into the contest all on its own.

WP Scores 2

Justin Morneau, 1B, Rockies - 13 HRs

If you haven't been watching, Justin Morneau is back to crushing baseballs in Colorado this season. Evidence:

Morneau

Morneau should also get some incredible support in Minnesota, a city in which he was a four-time All-Star and AL MVP winner.

Yasiel Puig, OF, Dodgers - 12 HRs, 500 bat flips

He may not have as many home runs as the other participants, but he has far more bat flips. Also, this is Yasiel Puig we're talking about. He was MADE for this competition. He shall rise to the occasion.

And who knows? He may even run out to catch his own fly balls:
