History altered! Derek Jeter's Honus Wagner-tying hit now ruled an error

Derek Jeter's Honus Wagner-tying hit now an error

Proving my theory correct that Major League Baseball owns a time machine and just isn't telling anyone, Derek Jeter's Aug. 8 hit against the Indians has now been ruled an error. That hit just happened to be the one that tied him with Honus Wagner for sixth all-time.

Which means that Jeter's single on Aug. 9 against the Indians tied Wagner's mark instead of breaking it:

And it was his double on Aug. 11 that gave him sole possession:

Of course, for anyone that knows about time travel or has seen the Ashton Kutcher classic,  The Butterfly Effect, you know that even the smallest changes to the timestream can change the future in bizarre and frightening ways.

So if any of these things happen, you can be fairly certain that time travel is the culprit:

- Adrian Beltre likes having his head touched

- Giancarlo Stanton becomes the Governor of Florida. (Actually, that one isn't too far fetched).

- Clayton Kershaw decides baseball is too easy. Tries out for Australian rules football

Matthew McConaughey flips on his pro-fanny pack position

- Aroldis Chapman fails to strike out a batter in a relief appearance ... wait a second ...

- A giant hole in the time-space continuum is torn open and our reality is forever destroyed.
