Hunter Pence predicted May flowers, then promptly homered off Clayton Kershaw

Hunter Pence entered Monday night's showdown against the Dodgers in a bit of a slump to start the season, having hit just one homer in 26 games. His first game of May didn't seem like it would offer any help with the formidable Clayton Kershaw taking the hill for the Dodgers, at home in Los Angeles no less.
Thankfully for the Giants, Pence has never been the type to lack for confidence.

Pence is obviously an accomplished hitter, but his homer against Kershaw was a bit of a shock. According to MLB.com's Chris Haft, it was the first of his career in 71 Major League at-bats. Although Kershaw was the man he'd faced the most in his career, Pence only had a .100 batting average and .213 OPS with him on the mound.

It's all about the mindset! With the help of Pence's blast, the Giants went on to beat their rivals, 4-3.
Obviously, those swings showing off for Bill Nye have been paying off too, even when facing the league's best.
