It's awfully appropriate that Jim Leyland manages in Motown

Jim Leyland doesn't concern himself with newfangled handshake celebrations, and claims he's "old, but not necessarily old school." Nevertheless, there's one area in which he has an abundance of old school style.

The Tigers skipper talked about his love of singing earlier this year on MLB Network, and, on a visit to Detroit's Motown Museum a few years back, he busted out a few bars of the Stylistics' R&B classic "Betcha by Golly, Wow."

Asked on Sunday whether he knew about his manager's hidden talent, Justin Verlander responded he did -- and said that on the road, Leyland's been known to take part in a hotel bar karaoke night or two.
